Script Frenzy and National Poetry Month

So it is that time again. Time for Script Frenzy, which is basically a contest in which one has to write a script in 30 days. My self and the other one are attempting to write an adaptation to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. But this one will be different than the others. Hopefully.

On another note, April is National Poetry Month. Read a poem a day if you can. Poetry is an art form, and not everyone has a way with words. Plus it is an enriching experience that cultures the mind. Or something like that. I'd post a poem, but I'm feeling a little lazy and I have to come up with the character list for the script. I will keep try to keep everyone posted but maybe my other half can try... she probably won't.

Okay so it's been a while

We put the Agony of White on hold. But then it got picked up as a project by the Nashua Community College's Film Club. Shooting has wrapped and hopefully the editing can begin soon.

Me and the Other One are attempting to bring to life another project, we wish to fully realize its within the next six months to a year. What we need is a dedicated team to help bring this project to life. Currently we are thinking about an Alice in Wonderland type of story but with older characters, modern, and for an older audience, but we are open to all ideas.

Other than that it's been another stressful few months and hopefully I'll be successful in graduating (yay!). Not sure what will happen once the Other One finishes her mandatory education. Oh well.

No no no no no! Ugh, this is so frustrating!! I got all my scripts ready, schedules were waiting to be made but noooooo my actors weren't reliable! UGH! I wanted to film this summer. This was supposed to be my project, my tiny little project that I can tweak and figure things out before I head off in to TV Production! Gah.

It's so not fair... Even with the other project I was involved with. We couldn't find the RIGHT day to shoot.

Is it always like this? Really? I mean I thought having friends help you out in projects were supposed to make things easier.... But I guess I was wrong.

Alright, that's all I have to say... I guess you all know that the production is now on HOLD.

*sneers* Bye.

So, here's the thing about pre-production, things are constantly changing. After a rewrite of the script, we now have to find three more actors. This is hard.

Hopefully the final schedule will be out soon.

Another down side to being the producer, finding a way to finance the project. When you have no money, you must get creative.

Well... the food is here so I'm off...

So, the final page count... 63 pages. We lost. But still, it was a fun experience! Haha, I can't believe a very serious action/adventure to a very funny comedy.... WEIRD.

Next thing on my list....

Pre-production! WOOO. Haha, and since I'm going to be the director... I have to handle the talent! *twirls finger* woo hoo! (not)

I'm really tired at the moment. I really don't know why, but I am. It's not fun. School was sooo bad because of a certain massive headache wouldn't let up. Anyway, I'm going to go now.

The Dangers of the Color White

So hopefully we'll be able to start production on The Agony of White this summer. I think it will take about two weekends to complete but you never know.

To Do:

contact talent
note needed equipment
acquire needed equipment
assemble crew
finish script

and there are probably a hundred other things that need to be done. Oh well. I just don't like being in perpetual pre-production. Ugh.

We need funding.

Um, So, yeah.... we're going to lose on Script Frenzy. Only what, 43 pages written?? Gr, that just makes me so... mad. Darn, I was really hoping I or we were going to do well.

So, I think I'm going to adapt a book in to a script. I've already started on it (in my notebook) but I'm not sure if it's going to be a good idea. I want to finish the script and then send it to the author of the book... I think she'd like it. But you know, it's going to be for fun at the moment. I probably won't even send it to her but it's a nice idea.

I want to start filming "The Agony of White". I want to start now, but we haven't even made a plan for it! Ugh, stupid school. Haha.

Alright, that's all for now... I just wanted to pop in for a few seconds and write down something random....

This deserves a seperate update.

So we are closing in on our second week of ScriptFrenzy, which I'm currently taking a short break from to gather my thoughts on it. We have reached about 26 pages, most of it being dialogue. Well, we have 74 pages to go.

Tim Burton

So if you know me, then you know that I am a BIG fan of Tim Burton. I've seen almost all his movies. Almost because I can't remember if I saw the Batman one, and I'm pretty sure I there are a few more that I haven't seen. I absolutely loved Edward Scissorhands. I love the way that the movie flows like a fairy tale. The casting was wonderfully done. The way that Suburbia was portrayed was great. I loved how all the houses looked alike.

Sticking with the fairy tale feel, Big Fish was also a good movie. I loved how the fantastic stories that the father told, the way that they were portrayed to the audience, had some merit in the end.

And then you have Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride. Both are absolutely amazing. The stories are intriguing, the characters are well written, and the animation was spectacular.

I love the movies that have Johnny Depp in them. Those two make fantastic films. Depp quirky acting makes every character that he plays real. Edward Scissorhands would not be the same movie if someone other than Depp was Edward.

In conclusion, Tim Burton is one of many great directors. I cannot wait to see what he comes out with next.
